Ben Foakes, showcasing his excellence as one of the finest wicketkeepers, made an outstanding catch to dismiss India’s Rajat Patidar on Day 3 of the ongoing Test in Visakhapatnam on Sunday, February 4. Patidar seemed in good form after hitting a back-foot punch for a boundary off Rehan Ahmed.
However, attempting a similar shot, the ball kept lower, resulting in an under edge. Foakes skillfully caught the ball low in his left glove, completing an impressive catch, leaving Patidar disappointed as he walked back to the pavilion.

India suffered a significant setback after losing Shreyas Iyer, and they were in need of a strong partnership to increase their lead. Patidar might feel unfortunate, as the ball didn’t bounce as much as he might have expected.
England dominates the initial session on an active Day 3
Despite India scoring 102 runs in the initial session on Day 3, England will be pleased to have taken four wickets. James Anderson, particularly, played a crucial role for the visitors with a stellar performance.
The veteran dismissed Rohit Sharma with an exceptional delivery and also had Yashasvi Jaiswal edging one in the slip cordon. Shubman Gill, though surviving a couple of close LBW calls, has capitalized on the luck that has come his way.
Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer contributed 81 runs for the third wicket, giving the impression that India was in control. Yet, Ben Stokes managed a remarkable running catch, ending the partnership and dismissing Iyer.
Ben Foakes’ outstanding catch contributed to England having the upper hand in the initial session. Despite this, India holds a lead of 273 runs with six wickets in hand.
The team looks to Shubman Gill to convert his start into a substantial hundred, while relying on support from players like Axar Patel and others.
