Newly appointed England Test captain Ben Stokes is currently representing Durham in the ongoing season of County Championship. Stokes created the massive record of scoring most runs in an over while he was playing against Worcestershire.
Ben Stokes smoked 34 runs off an over on the bowling of Baker. He hit Baker for 6,6,6,6,6,4 in the 117th over of the match. Stokes played many eye-catching shots and announced his captaincy arrival in style. England’s Test Captain Ben Stokes reached his century in just 64 balls. He showed why he is one of the greats of this format.
Ben Stokes played a breathtaking innings of 161 runs in 88 balls. This innings received a lot of applause from cricket fans across the world. With the help of this amazing innings of Ben Stokes, Durham reached the total of 580 runs after which they declared the innings.

Stokes also hit 17 sixes in this innings, which itself is the record of most sixes in an innings in County cricket. Earlier last month, Stokes was appointed as England’s Test captain after Joe Root decided to step down. Stokes has huge responsibility on his shoulders to revive the Test cricket in England.
I want to win games of cricket for England- Ben Stokes
Stokes’ first challenge as captain would be against New Zealand in June. England would host New Zealand for a three match Test series. Stokes has taken a huge decision to call back Anderson and Broad in the Test squad of England.
Stokes in his interview with BBC said: “I want to win games of cricket for England. The best way to do that is picking your best XI and in my opinion if Stuart Broad and James Anderson are fit they are available for selection”
