West Indies level the series 2-2
The fourth T20I saw a similar score-line compared to the first three matches. Having been put into bat first, West Indies put a fighting total of 167 courtesy of valuable contributions from Lendl Simmons and skipper Kieron Pollard. The spinners were once again impressive for South Africa. George Linde and Tabraiz Shamsi conceded 29 runs in their combined eight overs while picking up a couple of wickets apiece.
Chasing a par-total, the South Africans kept losing wickets and although in-form batsman Quinton de Kock tried his best with a valiant 60, they fell short by 21 runs. Pollard was named the man-of-the-match after his all-round performance. He scored a quick-fire 52 in the first innings before coming back to bowl an economical spell of 1/24 in his four overs.
Following the win, the West Indies leveled the series 2-2 and it all boils down to the fifth and final T20I that will be played at St.George’s, Grenada.
