[WATCH]- Corbin Bosch Strikes Stumps, But Bail Refuses To Drop Despite Impact
Corbin Bosch

During the second T20 International between Australia and South Africa at the Marrara Cricket Ground in Darwin on Tuesday, Corbin Bosch experienced a bizarre moment. In the second ball of the 13th over of Australia’s innings, he struck Mitchell Owen’s stumps, yet the bail refused to fall despite being dislodged.

Bosch delivered a full and fast ball on the off stump, with Owen moving to the leg side in an attempt to hit it hard, but completely missing. The ball clipped the outside of the off stump, causing the zing bails to light up. Incredibly, one bail even lifted into the air before landing back in its original position, leaving the stumps intact.

How South Africa Defeated Australia In 2nd T20I?

South Africa produced a dominant performance to bounce back and level the series 1-1 with a resounding 57-run win, after being outplayed in the opening match. The defeat was Australia’s second-heaviest loss in T20Is and ended their 10-match winning streak in the format. Batting first, South Africa posted 218/7, thanks to Dewald Brevis’s maiden T20I century — an unbeaten 125*.

Brevis became the youngest and second-fastest player to reach the milestone for the Proteas, surpassing Faf du Plessis’s record for the highest individual score by a South African in T20Is. Captain Aiden Markram (18) and Ryan Rickelton (14) started well before Rickelton’s pull shot off Ben Dwarshuis found Tim David, and Markram was stumped off Glenn Maxwell.

Maxwell struck again to remove Lhuan-dre Pretorius (10). Brevis then partnered with Tristan Stubbs (31) for a 126-run fourth-wicket stand, dominating the scoring as he brought up his fifty in 25 balls and reached his century in just 41. Adam Zampa dismissed Stubbs, and late-order contributions were minimal, but Brevis’s 12 fours and eight sixes carried the Proteas to a formidable total.

Australia’s batting faltered early, with Travis Head (5) and Cameron Green (9) falling to Markram and Kwena Maphaka. Tim David (50) offered resistance with his second straight half-century, while captain Mitchell Marsh (22) was removed by Corbin Bosch. Rabada dismissed David at cover, and Maphaka added the key wickets of Maxwell (16) and Mitchell Owen (8).

Carey’s (26) dismissal to Nqabayomzi Peter, via a sharp catch from Brevis, sealed Australia’s fate. The Proteas then mopped up the tail quickly, removing Dwarshuis (12), Sean Abbott (1), and Adam Zampa (0) to complete the win.
