India and Ireland are facing each other in the 2nd T20I match of the ongoing T20I series. The match is being played at Dublin in Ireland. Hardik Pandya is leading the Indian team in this T20I series because all the senior players of the Indian team are part of the test team in England. Hardik won the toss and elected to bat first in 2nd T20I.

Hardik called it a good pitch to bat. Indian team made three changes to their playing XI. The biggest change was Sanju Samson replacing Ruturaj Gaikwad in the playing XI. Ruturaj Gaikwad faced a niggle in his calf in the previous match due to which he didn’t come out to bat in last T20I.

Eventually Gaikwad was ruled out of the 2nd T20I. When Hardik Pandya announced that Samson was replacing Ruturaj in the playing XI, the crowd acknowledged the inclusion of Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson with a massive cheer. He got the loudest cheer from the crowd which even Hardik accepted.

Hardik reacted to this cheer of the crowd by saying ,”A lot of people like it I think”. Sanju Samson made full use of the opportunities given to him in this match. Samson played a brilliant knock of 77 runs in 42 balls. He hit 9 fours and 4 sixes in his innings.

Apart from Samson , Harshal Patel and Ravi Bishnoi too made their place in the playing XI. They replaced Avesh Khan and Yuzvendra Chahal respectively. The Indian team put up a massive total of 227 runs after electing to bat first. Deepak Hooda played a brilliant knock of 104 runs in 57 balls.

After winning the toss , Hardik said: “The wicket looks alright and the weather looks awesome and sunny as well. When we bowled first we expected the wicket to do much more than it did. But credit to the boys to keep them down to that total by realizing which balls to bowl.”
