Even after Dhoni’s dismissal, Chennai remained mathematically in contention, requiring three sixes from the final three deliveries to seal the chase. Jamie Overton, who had struggled with the ball earlier, reignited CSK fans’ hopes by launching a six on the third ball of the last over.

However, Sandeep Sharma adjusted his approach, delivering a well-placed slower bouncer on the penultimate ball, restricting Overton to just two runs.
