Chennai Super Kings (CSK) pacer Tushar Deshpande celebrated his 29th birthday today (May 15) with his teammates and support staff. The Super Kings are currently vying for a playoff spot and need to defeat the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in their last league game, set for Saturday, May 18, at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Before departing Chennai for this crucial match, the entire CSK team celebrated Deshpande’s birthday in the hotel lobby, with the franchise sharing a heartwarming video on their social media channels.

MS Dhoni lit the candle before Tushar Deshpande joined him in the center to cut the cake. Other players and support staff also joined in, and the whole squad appeared to be in high spirits ahead of the crucial game.

Tushar Deshpande leads Chennai Super Kings in wickets this season

Due to the absence of senior pacer Deepak Chahar and the unexpected departures of Mustafizur Rahman and Matheesha Pathirana for various reasons, Tushar Deshpande has stepped up as the primary bowler for the Chennai Super Kings. And he has delivered impressively.

Deshpande is currently leading CSK’s bowling charts with 16 wickets from 12 matches, averaging 23.43 and maintaining an economy rate of 8.52. His standout performance was the 4/27 figures he achieved against the SunRisers Hyderabad at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

The right-arm pacer, originating from Mumbai, must deliver his top performance as the defending champions aim to outshine Bengaluru on Saturday evening.
