Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) fast bowler Umran Malik bowled a searing yorker to knock off Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) captain Shreyas Iyer. The young fast bowler, who has earned praise for bowling express pace, looked to get better with each passing game.

The youngster grabbed eyeballs from last season and was retained by Hyderabad ahead of the auction. He looked a bit wayward in his first couple of games but with Dale Steyn at your peril, you are got to better.

Umran Malik has spent the extra yards with the former Proteas pacer and the results are for everyone to see. He bowled a deadly yorker to knock off Shreyas Iyer. The incident took place in the 10th over of the innings when the 22-year-old came charging in.

Iyer was moving all around the place, again making room to go on the off-side but Umran Malik keeps his cool and fires in a yorker on the middle and off stump. Shreyas Iyer fails to dig it out and the ball crashes low into the stumps.

The Sunrisers Hyderabad was absolutely delighted with the wicket. Pace bowling coach Dale Steyn was jumping in joy and he along with Muttiah Muralitharan have a big laugh and celebrate the wicket.

Opting to bowl first, SRH seamers used the pace and bounce on the wicket to make the ball talk with the new ball. Kolkata Knight Riders were 31/3 and the extreme pace of Umran Malik got Shreyas Iyer in the 10th over but Nitish Rana held up one end and made his first fifty after 19 IPL innings.

He was joined by Andre Russell who gave him support and then clobbered sixes at the death to finish on a high. Whenever SRH’s bowlers missed, Russell put them away. The last over was bowled by a spinner and the West Indian got 16 off the four balls he faced to propel Kolkata to a challenging total.
