The 38th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 will see Mumbai Indians (MI) face off against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium on Sunday, April 20. Ahead of the much-anticipated encounter, CSK shared a delightful video featuring a light-hearted moment between MS Dhoni and Deepak Chahar.

In the video, posted on the team’s official X account (formerly Twitter), Dhoni is seen playfully chasing Chahar with a bat, teasing the MI pacer. The fun moment soon transitions into a heartfelt chat between the two, capturing the strong bond within the CSK camp.

“Making merry with Namma Cherry,” CSK wrote on X while sharing the clip.

MS Dhoni Crosses 130-Run Mark in IPL 2025 Campaign

MS Dhoni has taken over the captaincy duties for Chennai Super Kings in the 18th edition of the Indian Premier League after Ruturaj Gaikwad was ruled out of the tournament due to an elbow injury. The 43-year-old veteran has had a relatively low-key season so far, scoring 130 runs in seven matches with an impressive strike rate of 158.54 and an average of 43.33.

Over the course of his IPL career, Dhoni has featured in 271 matches, amassing 5373 runs at a strike rate of 137.98 and an average of 39.22. In contrast, Dhoni had a disappointing outing in IPL 2024, managing just 161 runs across 14 matches, albeit at a striking rate of 220.55. On the bowling front, Deepak Chahar has picked up five wickets in the current season.

The 32-year-old pacer has played 88 IPL games in total, claiming 82 wickets with an economy rate of 8.14. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have struggled in IPL 2025, securing only two wins from their first seven matches. With five losses, the team currently sits at the bottom of the points table with four points and a net run rate of -1.276.

Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians (MI) have fared slightly better, winning three of their seven games and holding seventh place with six points.
