[WATCH]- Dhruv Jurel Marks Maiden Test Century With Memorable Celebration On Day 2 vs West Indies

Dhruv Jurel shone with the bat on Day 2 of the first Test between India and the West Indies at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Friday, October 3. The wicketkeeper-batter reached his maiden Test century with a boundary, making the most of the chance in Rishabh Pant’s absence due to injury.

The milestone came in the 116th over of India’s first innings. West Indies captain Roston Chase bowled a fuller delivery on middle, and Jurel advanced, using his bottom hand to guide it past mid-on for a boundary. The 24-year-old celebrated the century in his own distinctive style. You can watch the video here:

With this century, Dhruv Jurel maintained his fine form with the bat, building on his 140 and 56 for India A against Australia A in the recent Test series in Lucknow. He had also registered a 90 against England in his second Test last year.

The Uttar Pradesh-born batter has an impressive first-class record, scoring 1,712 runs in 39 innings across 27 matches at an average of 48.91, including two centuries and 13 half-centuries.
