MS Dhoni is one of the greatest finishers and captains in Indian cricket history. The amount of times he has rescued India and CSK out of tight situations is uncountable, to say the least. The number of accolades and accomplishments in his 15-year stay in the Indian Cricket Team and 12-year stay as captain of Chennai Super Kings speaks for itself.
No match is over for India and Chennai unless and until Dhoni is still at the crease. Like a wise man once said, “When you have to bowl the final over to MS Dhoni, the pressure isn’t on him, it’s on you.”
A similar instance occurred yesterday in the mega clash in the Indian Premier League between Chennai and Mumbai. MS Dhoni came out to bat when Chennai needed stability and quick runs. Dhoni and Dwaine Pretorius were the people, Mumbai had to get out in order to win the match.
Dhoni played a blinder of a knock, including scoring 17 runs off the final over of Jaydev Unadkat. During the mandatory handshakes between the teams and the players, everyone was simply in just awe of what the 40-year-old cricketer had done just then. Dhoni and finishing matches is a love story that will never die and everyone knows that.
Chennai fans were seen shouting ‘Dhoni Dhoni’ from their homes after this brilliant victory over the arch-rivals. They knew the importance of this match and MS Dhoni finishing the match in style was just the icing on the cake. Whenever MS Dhoni hits the whole of India celebrates, no matter what team you support.

“We all know how calming MS Dhoni can be” – Rohit Sharma
Mumbai Indians (MI) captain Rohit Sharma admitted that the former CSK captain made all the difference in their IPL 2022 match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Thursday. Rohit in his post-match presentation said”
“After batting not so well, I thought the bowlers kept us in the game all through. But in the end, we all know how calming MS Dhoni can be and he took them home.” Whilst current CSK skipper Ravindra Jadeja, “We were very tense about the way the game was going. But the great finisher of the game was still there, so we knew we had a chance. He’s still here and doing it for us.”
MS Dhoni was, is and will be the greatest ever captain and finisher the Indian cricket history has ever seen.
