England captain Eoin Morgan, who is known to be a terrific fielder in the England side once again proved his prowess. In the 2nd T20 vs Australia, Morgan showed his brilliance yet again as he dismissed Steve Smith with an exceptional throw. That run out proved to be very crucial as it ultimately helped England seal off the T20 series vs Australia.

The run-out happened during the fifth over of Australia’s innings when Australia batting first had lost 2 early wickets. It was when Smith decided to take a quick single off Tom Curran after pushing one towards mid-on. That’s when Eoin Morgan standing at mid-wicket came running with just one wicket to aim, attempts a flying run out to dismiss Australia’s best batsmen.

Morgan made an exceptional throw to dismiss Smith

The England Captain had just one wicket to aim, displayed his fielding prowess with the perfect throw. As soon as the ball hit the stumps, Steve Smith knew that he’s been a victim of a significant fielding display which is why he didn’t even bother waiting for the umpire’s decision.

Steve Smith had the onus on himself to build Australia through an early collapse with Warner and Carey sent packing. Following Smith’s wicket, Marcus Stoinis and David Warner built a steady partnership by adding 49 runs for the fourth wicket. Later on, Glenn Maxwell and Ashton Agar played a valuable cameo to take Australia to 158 at the end of 20 overs.

In the end, Australia’s efforts went in vain as Jos Buttler pulled off an impeccable chase by scoring 77* off just 54 deliveries. England sealed off the series victory by winning the 2nd T20 vs Australia. Both teams will now play the final T20 of the series on 8th September at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton.
