[WATCH]- Faf du Plessis Stuns With Brilliant Catch To Dismiss David Bedingham In SA20 2025 Eliminator

Joburg Super Kings (JSK) skipper Faf du Plessis took a breathtaking catch to send Sunrisers Eastern Cape (SEC) opener David Bedingham back to the pavilion in the SA20 2025 Eliminator on Wednesday, February 5, at SuperSport Park, Centurion.

The wicket fell on the first delivery of the fifth over of Eastern Cape’s innings. Super Kings’ spinner Imran Tahir bowled a well-flighted delivery outside off stump. Bedingham attempted an aggressive shot, lofting the ball high and to the left of the mid-off fielder with immense power.

Du Plessis reacted swiftly, sprinted across, and executed a sensational two-handed overhead catch with a well-timed leap. The official SA20 League X account shared the video with the caption:

“Absolutely FAF-tastic. Faf du Plessis continues to defy the laws of physics.”

As soon as Faf du Plessis secured the catch, Imran Tahir erupted into his signature celebratory sprint, capping it off with a tribute to football icon Cristiano Ronaldo’s famous ‘Siu’ celebration.

David Bedingham had made a strong impact with the bat, scoring 27 runs off 14 deliveries, including three boundaries and a six. His wicket left Sunrisers Eastern Cape at 48/2 after 4.1 overs.

The Joburg Super Kings opted to bowl first after winning the toss. Sunrisers Eastern Cape openers David Bedingham and Tony de Zorzi provided a strong start, adding 42 runs in the first three overs, with Bedingham leading the charge. JSK got their first breakthrough in the fourth over when Maheesh Theekshana dismissed Zorzi for 14 off nine deliveries.

In the next over, Faf du Plessis showcased his brilliance in the field to send Bedingham back for 27. Tom Abell had a tough time at the crease, managing a run-a-ball 10 before falling to Moeen Ali. Jordan Hermann also struggled, scoring just 12 off 16 balls before Hardus Viljoen claimed his first wicket of the match.
