[WATCH] Former South African Pacer Sings A Bollywood Song, Video Goes Viral

Ex-South African bowler Makhaya Ntini, alongside Ravichandran Ashwin, recently sang the classic Bollywood song ‘Kabhi Kabhi Mere Dil Mein’ in a video that likely captured moments from the two-match Test series between India and South Africa, resulting in a 1-1 draw. The video gained popularity on X.

Ashwin appeared embarrassed, covering his face with his hands, as Ntini ‘sang’ the well-known song.

The timeless song was created by Sahir Ludhianvi and performed by the legendary Mukesh and Lata Mangeshkar. On the other hand, Ntini, who played 101 Tests, 173 ODIs, and 10 T20Is for the Proteas, secured 662 international wickets across formats, including 62 against India.

Additionally, he featured for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the inaugural season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Currently 46, Ntini served as a cricket commentator during India’s recent tour of South Africa.

Ravichandran Ashwin has been nominated for the ICC Men’s Test Cricketer of the Year for 2023

Meanwhile, Ravichandran Ashwin has received a nomination for the ICC Men’s Test Cricketer of the Year 2023, sharing the category with Australia’s Travis Head, Usman Khawaja, and England’s Joe Root. In 2023, Ashwin claimed 41 wickets in seven Tests. The experienced off-spinner earned the Player of the Series title by securing 25 wickets in four Border-Gavaskar Trophy Tests, contributing to India’s series win with a 2-1 margin.

In addition to his bowling prowess, he contributed 150 runs in eight innings, including a half-century at Queen’s Park Oval against West Indies. However, Ashwin faced a setback in the opening Test against South Africa, managing just one wicket and struggling with the bat, scoring eight and a duck across two innings.

Ashwin is set to participate in the upcoming five-match Test series against England at home, with the first Test scheduled for January 25 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad. The 37-year-old is just 10 wickets away from reaching the milestone of 500 Test wickets, a feat surpassed only by former India captain Anil Kumble, who has taken 619 wickets for India in Tests.
