Pakistan reached the final of the tournament, but couldn’t go past the last hurdle. They lost to England by five wickets on Sunday, November 13 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. However, their performance in the tournament, despite the early losses, earned immense praise from experts and fans.

Speaking to the media, Haris Rauf thanked the fans for their support. He expressed, “You love us so much and this is the reason why we try to perform well. Alhamdulillah, we are all happy with the World Cup (performance) and I think the whole of Pakistan is happy with our performance.”

We have learned a lot from this World Cup: Haris Rauf

Pakistan’s pace trio of Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Naseem Shah put up a good show at the 2022 T20 World Cup. Their effort in the final took the match to the second last over. Opening up about playing in the T20 World Cup, pacer Haris Rauf expressed that the team learned a lot. He stated,

“We have learned a lot from this World Cup. Played in different conditions and situations, and our journey had ups and downs. We had the hope that we would make it to the semifinals, and we made a comeback after the Netherlands game…the way we played against New Zealand gave us a lot of confidence, but unfortunately, we lost the final.”
