[WATCH]- Harry Brook Smashes First-Ball Six Off Tim Southee In The Hundred 2025

England’s white-ball captain Harry Brook boldly scooped English bowling consultant Tim Southee for six on the first ball he faced in The Hundred. The tournament, introduced by the ECB, though lacking international recognition, has emerged as a favourite among fans in recent years.

The thrill and intensity of the format, compressed into just 200 deliveries for both sides, makes it a constant entertainer. Recently, another such moment occurred when Brook smashed consultant Tim Southee for six with a fearless scoop off his very first ball.

The audacious stroke left spectators and the opposition completely stunned.

Coming in at the 74th ball of the match, the Northern Superchargers looked to add the finishing touch to an already dominant innings. Facing Tim Southee, who delivered a slightly slower, shorter ball on the stumps, England’s white-ball skipper Harry Brook prepared for a switch hit.

At the last moment, he abandoned the reverse stroke and improvised brilliantly, scooping the ball over the keeper’s head for six. Even while losing balance and stumbling, Harry Brook timed it perfectly, sending it beyond the ropes.

Northern Superchargers Set New Highest Innings Total

In the 14th match of The Hundred 2025, Birmingham Phoenix faced off against the Northern Superchargers. Batting first, the Superchargers piled up this season’s highest score, finishing with 193/5 from their 100 deliveries. England opener Zak Crawley provided the perfect launchpad, taking Trent Boult apart for 22 runs in the final set of the powerplay.

After captain Liam Livingstone ended Crawley’s stay, Dawid Malan stepped up brilliantly, anchoring the innings with a composed 58-run knock. Harry Brook’s quick 31 off 14 balls shifted momentum for the Superchargers as runs flowed freely on a flat Headingley track.

Their bowlers kept control with regular breakthroughs, and Adil Rashid struck crucial blows by removing Liam Livingstone and Jacob Bethell. Supported by Matthew Potts’ 3 wickets, along with 2 each from Jacob Duffy and Tom Lawes, the Superchargers bowled out Phoenix for 157 to seal a 36-run win.
