Team India head coach Gautam Gambhir and fast bowler Harshit Rana were seen leaving Delhi airport together on Sunday, February 1. India had last taken the field a day earlier, on Saturday, January 31, in the fifth and final T20I of the series against New Zealand at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram.

Batting first, the hosts piled up a massive 271/5, powered by Ishan Kishan’s explosive 103 off 43 deliveries. New Zealand were then dismissed for 225 in reply, as India sealed a 46-run win and clinched the series 4-1.

A day after the match, Gambhir and Rana were captured on camera exiting the airport together, before heading off separately in different vehicles. You can watch the video here:

Meanwhile, Harshit appeared in three games during the series and picked up only two wickets from three innings, returning an average of 62.00, a strike rate of 33.00, and an economy of 11.27.

Gautam Gambhir And Team India’s Next Challenge Is The 2026 T20 World Cup

Following a dominant 4–1 series triumph over New Zealand, Team India will now turn their attention to the 2026 T20 World Cup. The showpiece event is set to begin on February 7 and will be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka.

India will head into the tournament as the reigning champions, having clinched the title in 2024 under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy. In the 2026 edition, India have been drawn in Group A along with Pakistan, the Netherlands, Namibia and the USA.

Suryakumar Yadav is set to lead the side, with Gautam Gambhir preparing for his second ICC tournament as India’s head coach.
