[WATCH]- Hasaranga Mimics Abrar’s Celebration To Settle Scores In The Asia Cup 2025

Sri Lanka’s spin-bowling all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga playfully teased Pakistani spinner Abrar Ahmed while settling scores during their Super Four clash in the Asia Cup 2025 on Tuesday, September 23. Abrar had earlier dismissed Hasaranga in the first innings with a perfect delivery and even copied his famous ‘phone-call’ celebration in front of the Sri Lankan star.

Hasaranga not only returned the favor but went a step further by mimicking Abrar’s celebration twice in the second innings. The first moment came in the sixth over when he took a spectacular low catch at mid-off to dismiss the dangerous Fakhar Zaman, who had earlier been struck on the head by a Dushmantha Chameera bouncer.

Maheesh Theekshana also shone in the same over, first removing Sahibzada Farhan and then claiming Fakhar’s wicket. Hasaranga’s brilliant catch and subsequent imitation of Abrar’s celebration were clear revenge for the Pakistani bowler copying his style in the first innings.

He struck again in the very next over, sending back Saim Ayub for just two as the Lankan Lions staged a strong comeback. In a funny twist, Hasaranga repeated Abrar’s celebration, and the cameras caught the Pakistani star in the dugout, grinning as he watched the act. You can watch the video here:

Sri Lanka set Pakistan a target of 134 after their bowlers put up a strong performance. Shaheen Afridi claimed three wickets, while Haris Rauf and Hussain Talat picked up two wickets each.
