MS Dhoni is known to have the sharpest cricketing brain among the present-day cricketers. He once again showed a glimpse of cricketing acumen when he plotted Virat Kohli’s dismissal during Chennai Super Kings’ game against Royal Challengers Bangalore.

The Bangalore franchise succumbed to the scoreboard pressure trying to hit from the word go. Skipper Faf du Plessis got out in the 3rd over, which brought former captain Virat Kohli in the middle. The 33-year-old talismanic run-scorer looked to take the attack to the opposition when MS Dhoni produced a tactical brilliance.

When Kohli arrived at the crease inside the powerplay, CSK didn’t have a fielder at deep square-leg, one of the favourite scoring areas of former RCB skipper. The moment Kohli was on strike, Dhoni shuffled the field and brought a player at deep square-leg to cut down Kohli’s pull and hook shots.

CSK left-arm pacer Mukesh Choudhary executed the plan as he bowled a short-pitched delivery to Kohli and the RCB star guided it straight to the fielder Shivam Dube, who grabbed on to an easy catch.

The video has gone viral across all social media platforms as the fans once again showered praise on MS Dhoni. However, this is not the first time the former Indian captain has produced such brilliance on the field.

CSK thrash RCB to open their account in IPL 2022

Royal Challengers Bangalore eventually managed only 191, losing the game by 23 runs. A couple of early wickets at the top put immense pressure on the middle-order, who scored at a good rate but lacked wickets.

Earlier, in the day, CSK had a sluggish start as they were 37/2 after the first seven overs. But after that, Robin Uthappa and Shivam Dube added 165 runs for the third wicket to get CSK to a huge total. Robin Uthappa scored 88 runs off 50 balls. His innings consisted of 4 fours and 9 maximums. Shivam Dube played an unbeaten knock of 95 runs. Eventually, CSK gave a target of 217 runs which proved too much for RCB.
