Kuldeep Yadav, Team India’s left-arm unorthodox spinner, shared a training video on his official Instagram handle. Kuldeep, who sustained a groin injury during the home Test series against New Zealand, had to miss the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) in Australia.

Following the New Zealand series, he was sent to the BCCI Centre of Excellence for recovery. Now, with the 2025 Champions Trophy approaching, Kuldeep has been working on his fitness and sharpening his skills. The video highlights his intense net sessions as he prepares for the upcoming squad announcement.

Kuldeep’s last ODI appearance was against Sri Lanka in August 2024. Over his career, he has featured in 106 ODIs, taking 172 wickets at an average of 26.00 and an economy rate of 4.99. His record includes seven four-wicket hauls and two five-wicket hauls.

India Awaits Champions Trophy 2025 Squad Announcement

The Indian team has yet to finalize their squad for the 2025 Champions Trophy. With Kuldeep Yadav still in recovery and his fitness status unconfirmed, his inclusion in the squad for the prestigious ICC event remains highly uncertain at this stage.

Meanwhile, Ravi Bishnoi and Varun Chakaravarthy have emerged as potential options for the spinner’s role. Chakaravarthy has previously played under head coach Gautam Gambhir during his time at the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), while Bishnoi was coached by Gambhir during his stint with the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).

Among the three, Kuldeep is the most experienced. He was part of India’s squad in the 2023 ODI World Cup, where he claimed 15 wickets in 11 matches, finishing as the team’s fourth-highest wicket-taker in the tournament and earning praise for his consistent performances under pressure.
