Watch: Indian Team Takes Part In Fun Activities Post Quarantine

Following the completion of their mandatory quarantine period, the Indian team in Sri Lanka took part in fun outdoor activities. The squad will soon start their preparation for the white-ball series against Sri Lanka.

The 20-man squad for the tour will be led by Shikhar Dhawan with former cricketer, Rahul Dravid, as the head coach. They will take on Sri Lanka in a 3-match ODI series followed by a 3-match T20I series. After arriving in Sri Lanka, the team underwent quarantine protocols that were in place. Now that the period is over, the players who were eager to get out were seen participating in pool sessions and other activities.

While sharing the video on their official Twitter handle, BCCI captioned it:

“Out of quarantine Fun activities, #TeamIndia made the most out of their day off post quarantine before they headed to the nets in Colombo”

Coach Rahul Dravid said the Indian team had a tough time and we’re eager to get outdoors.

“Just a little bit of fun… Guys getting together. You know everyone’s been cooped up in their rooms for eighteen days and it’s not easy. So yeah, honestly it’s just nice to be out,” Dravid had said.

Shikhar Dhawan underlines the importance of the series

Newly-appointed captain Shikhar Dhawan termed the series as a great opportunity for the youngsters to assess themselves ahead of the T20 World Cup.

“This is a very good team. There is positivity, confidence in our team and everybody is confident that we will do well. There is a lot of excitement. It is a new challenge but at the same time, it is a great opportunity for all of us to show our talent. 13-14 days have passed since we are in quarantine. So the players are waiting when we can hit the ground and we have 10-12 days for preparation,” he said.
