India’s T20I opener Abhishek Sharma was recently spotted enjoying a game of turf cricket with friends. The left-hander, who was retained by SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) for ₹14 crore ahead of the 2025 IPL, showcased his skills in the casual match. A video shared on social media captured Abhishek playing attacking shots despite the rainy conditions.
The 24-year-old also impressed in the field with a sharp direct hit.

Abhishek Sharma was last seen in action during the 2025 IPL, where he emerged as SunRisers Hyderabad’s second-highest run-scorer of the season. The explosive left-hander piled up 439 runs in 13 innings at a blistering strike rate of 193.39.
He made headlines during the league stage with a stunning 40-ball century against Punjab Kings (PBKS), eventually scoring 141 off just 55 deliveries. Notably, this remains the highest individual score while chasing in IPL history.
His sensational innings powered SRH to successfully chase down a massive 246-run target in just 18.3 overs, with eight wickets to spare. Pat Cummins’ SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) missed out on a playoff spot, finishing sixth in the standings. The 2024 IPL runners-up ended the season with 13 points from 14 matches.
Abhishek Sharma Earns First T20I Cap During 2024 Zimbabwe Series
Abhishek Sharma lit up IPL 2025 with a sensational batting display, scoring 484 runs in 14 matches at an impressive strike rate of 204.21. His stellar performance earned him a maiden call-up to the Indian squad for the Zimbabwe tour.
Although his T20I debut began with a four-ball duck in the opening match, he bounced back in style by smashing a 47-ball century in the following game. In his T20I career so far, Abhishek has accumulated 535 runs across 15 innings, including two centuries and two half-centuries, boasting a strike rate of 193.84.
As a part-time left-arm spinner, he has also claimed six wickets in 10 innings with an economy rate of 8.05.
