Team India wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan delivered a witty one-liner after a young cricketer presented him with a sketch at his academy. In a video shared on X, the left-handed batter was heard joking, “kaash meri dadhi itni hoti,” while admiring the portrait. Kishan also posed for a few pictures with fans during the interaction.
Kishan marked his return to the Indian setup after being named in the T20 World Cup 2026 squad announced on Saturday, December 20. The 27-year-old earned his recall following an outstanding run in the recently concluded Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Leading Jharkhand to the title, Kishan ended the tournament as the top run-scorer, amassing 517 runs in 10 innings at an average of 57.44.
He capped off the campaign with a brilliant 49-ball century in the final, helping Jharkhand defeat Haryana by 69 runs. Here’s the video capturing Kishan’s amusing reaction to the fan-made sketch:

Kishan’s previous appearance for India came in October 2023, with his latest T20I outing following in November the same year. Across 32 T20Is, he has scored 796 runs at an average of 25.67, striking at 124.37 and registering six half-centuries.
Ishan Kishan Set To Miss Out On Team India’s Starting XI Spot
Despite being named as the second-choice wicketkeeper in the squad, Ishan Kishan is not expected to find a place in India’s playing XI for the home T20 series against New Zealand or the subsequent World Cup. Sanju Samson, who has cemented his role at the top of the order, is also set to handle the wicketkeeping duties.
Given India’s depth in finishing options, the left-hander is also unlikely to be accommodated in the middle or lower order. Led by Suryakumar Yadav, the Men in Blue are scheduled to play five T20Is against New Zealand starting January 21, before the World Cup begins on February 7.
India lifted their second T20 World Cup title in 2024 after defeating South Africa in the final.
