Gujarat Titans (GT) pacer Ishant Sharma and Delhi Capitals (DC) batter Ashutosh Sharma had a heated verbal exchange during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 match in Ahmedabad on Saturday, April 19. The incident occurred on the final delivery of the 19th over, when a rising ball from Sharma hit Ashutosh on the shoulder and was caught by Jos Buttler.
The Titans appealed for a caught-behind dismissal, but the umpire rejected it. Sharma, displeased with the decision, pointed his finger at Ashutosh, who clarified that the ball had struck his shoulder before going to Buttler.

Immediately after delivering the ball, Sharma left the field, finishing with figures of 1 for 19 in his three overs. Ashutosh was eventually dismissed in the final over of the innings, caught at long-on by substitute fielder Mahipal Lomror off R Sai Kishore’s bowling, after scoring 37 runs from 19 deliveries.
DC Post 203/8 After Strong All-Round Batting Display
Earlier, a well-rounded batting effort, anchored by captain Axar Patel’s 39 off 32 balls, powered DC to a total of 203 for 8 in 20 overs. Ashutosh Sharma was the second-highest scorer, while Karun Nair, promoted to open, and KL Rahul chipped in with 31 and 28 runs respectively.
For GT, Prasidh Krishna stood out with the ball, finishing with figures of 4 for 41 in his four overs. He remarked that GT had managed to restrict DC to a “decent score” considering the favorable batting conditions.
“The wicket was nice to bat on. The pace of the wicket was very easy for the batter to get used to. Was tough for us to turn up as bowlers. Fielding didn’t really help in those conditions. We have restricted them to a decent score.”
”Looking to hit the length. Tried to use the pitch a little more. Worked out for me today. Anything in length was going for runs. Backed my yorker today and it came out well,” Krishna said at the mid-innings break via Cricbuzz.
