Veteran Indian pacer Ishant Sharma will play his 100th Test when India take on England in the Pink-Ball Test match at the newly built Motera stadium. He also went past 300 Test wickets in the last Test and awaits another impressive milestone. The lanky pacer made his international debut way back in 2007 and is still going strong. He has had his share of injuries and has done exceedingly well to recover from them as well. Ahead of the third Test, he spoke to the reports on playing till 38 like James Anderson.
The BCCI press conference video featuring Ishant Sharma has been doing the rounds across social media. He had an interesting response when a reporter asked him if he intended on playing till 38 like England pacer James Anderson.

Ishant Sharma Going Strong
“38 sir, it’s very difficult for a fast bowler to say that to be very honest. But I think I will go one game at a time because you never know what comes next so you take one game at a time,” said Ishant.
In the last few years, he has emerged as one of the most prolific wicket-takers for Kohli & Co. in the longest format of the game. The 32-year-old currently has 302 wickets to his name in 99 Tests at an economy of 3.16.
He had an injury lay off before making a comeback in the Indian Test squad for the England series. He missed the IPL and the Australia series subsequently due to injury. However, since his comeback, he has led the Indian attack really well. Ishant Sharma has been only playing red-ball cricket in the last few years and thus has maintained his fitness as well.
India will play five T20Is and three ODIs after the four-match Test series against the World Champions after the Test series. The T20I squad has been announced with the team management naming a few interesting selections like Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav and Rahul Tewatia.
