Ravindra Jadeja And KL Rahul

India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja claimed his third wicket of the innings when West Indies captain Roston Chase fell to a simple caught-and-bowled on Day 2 of the second Test at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi. The left-arm spinner barely had to move as the ball came straight back to him.

The wicket came in the 34th over, which was Jadeja’s 10th of the innings. Chase, yet to score off his first six balls, attempted to flick a full delivery onto the on-side, but the ball rebounded straight to Jadeja, who took the catch effortlessly to register his third dismissal.

Jadeja Strikes Twice, Dismissing Campbell And Chanderpaul

Before dismissing Roston Chase, Ravindra Jadeja had already claimed the wickets of John Campbell (10) and Tagenarine Chanderpaul (34). The 36-year-old struck early, getting Campbell out in his very first over when the left-hander attempted a powerful sweep, only for B Sai Sudharsan at short leg to take the catch as Campbell tried to evade the ball.

India had to toil for the next breakthrough, as Chanderpaul and Alick Athanaze attacked the spinners with a flurry of boundaries. Jadeja eventually removed Chanderpaul in the 28th over when the batter edged one to slip, and KL Rahul, after juggling the ball thrice, held onto the catch.

Athanaze fell to Kuldeep Yadav, with Jadeja again involved by taking the mid-wicket catch. India declared their innings at 518/5, powered by centuries from Yashasvi Jaiswal (175) and Shubman Gill (129*). Resuming at 318/2, the hosts continued to pile on runs with ease. By the end of Day 2, West Indies were 140/4, still trailing by 378 runs.
