[WATCH]- KKR’s Andre Russell Enters Bollywood With His Debut Song ‘Ladki Tu Kamaal Ki’

KKR’s versatile player, Andre Russell, has stepped into Bollywood with his first appearance in the song ‘Ladki tu kamaal ki’. In the nearly three-minute music video, Russell stars alongside actress Avika Gor.

The song, written, composed, sung, and directed by Palaash Muchhal, also features vocals from the West Indies cricketer himself. Following suit, Russell emulated the path of another West Indies icon, Chris Gayle, who appeared in a Bollywood song titled ‘Jamaica to India’ by Emiway Bantai.

VoilaDigi, in partnership with Russell, shared the video on Instagram on Thursday.

“LADKI TU KAMAAL KI, @ar12russell’s Hindi music debut as a SINGER & ACTOR, out now on @voila_digi❤️🔥 Make dance reels on the hook step and tag the team.”

In 2014, Russell embarked on his second career as a recording artist under the name ‘Dre Russ’. He unveiled two singles in November, one of which was a collaboration with Beenie Man.

On the personal front, Russell tied the knot with American model Jassym Lora in 2016. The couple welcomed a daughter the same year. In 2017, he faced a one-year cricket ban for missing three doping tests within 12 months.

The Jamaican-born cricketer has thus far represented the West Indies in one Test, 56 ODIs, and 75 T20Is.

Andre Russell is showcasing outstanding performance for KKR in the IPL 2024 season

Andre Russell has been in exceptional form for KKR during the current IPL 2024 season. The batsman has scored 198 runs in 11 matches at an impressive strike rate of 186.79, including one half-century. Additionally, he has taken 13 wickets. As the Knight Riders aspire to clinch an IPL trophy after a decade, Russell will strive to maintain his outstanding performance.

In total, Russell has accumulated 2460 runs in 123 IPL matches, along with capturing 109 wickets. At 36 years old, he becomes only the second cricketer, after Ravindra Jadeja, to achieve over 2,000 runs and more than 100 wickets in the T20 extravaganza.

He will next take the field as KKR faces Mumbai Indians at Eden Gardens on Saturday (May 11). Outside the IPL, Andre Russell has secured a spot in the West Indies squad, which is co-hosting the T20 World Cup.

The ICC’s premier event is scheduled to take place in the West Indies and the US in June. Russell’s performance will be crucial to the two-time champions’ success in the tournament.
