Team India wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul has purchased a high-end MG-M9 car reportedly priced at nearly ₹70 lakh ahead of the ODI series against Australia. A video shared by ‘Voompla’ on Instagram showed the star cricketer unveiling the luxury vehicle at the showroom and posing with it proudly.

Rahul recently wrapped up a successful two-Test series against the West Indies, finishing as the second-highest run-scorer with 196 runs in two games. His tally featured a century in the opening Test at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad—his first home Test hundred since 2016.

He followed it up with an unbeaten 58 in the fourth innings of the Delhi Test, guiding India to a comfortable seven-wicket win while chasing 121. You can watch the video here:

Rahul is expected to continue as the wicketkeeper during the ODI series in Australia, even with Dhruv Jurel in the squad. The 33-year-old has performed impressively in the role in the 50-over format, especially during the 2023 World Cup and the 2025 Champions Trophy.

KL Rahul Managed Just One Fifty In 2020 Australia ODI Series

Back in the 2020 ODI series in Australia, KL Rahul was slotted in at No. 5. His only significant knock came in the second ODI in Sydney, where he scored 76 in a losing effort. Those three matches remain his only ODI appearances in Australia, with a total of 93 runs to his name. This time, he will be eager to make a stronger impact.

Team India, along with the support staff, departed for Australia on Wednesday, October 15, ahead of the series opener scheduled for October 19 in Perth. All eyes will also be on Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, who are set to return to international cricket for the first time since March. Following the ODIs, India and Australia will also clash in a five-match T20I series.
