Indian cricketer KL Rahul has resumed his batting practice recently ahead of India’s tour of the West Indies. He has been out of action for the last month and a half. KL Rahul was supposed to lead India in the five-match T20I series against South Africa last month. However, the right-handed batter was ruled out before the start of the series due to a groin injury.
The 30-year-old also had to miss the entire England tour as the mild strain aggravated into a serious injury. He underwent surgery in Germany for a sports hernia last month and is working to regain full fitness. Recently, KL Rahul began his net sessions, as he eyes to make a comeback in the Indian team.
A video from one of his batting sessions was shared on social media by his fan page on Saturday, July 16. The fans are delighted to see the star Indian batter back in the nets ahead of upcoming India’s tour of the West Indies. Sharing the video, KLRahul Trends wrote, “#KLRAHUL backs to nets. KL Rahul was last seen in action during the Indian Premier League 2022 season, leading the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). He finished the tournament as the second leading run-scorer, with 616 runs at an average of 51.33. The right-handed batter also slammed a couple of centuries and four fifties in the tournament.
KL Rahul’s inclusion in India’s T20I squad for the West Indies series subject to fitness
KL Rahul has been named in the T20I squad for the upcoming series against West Indies. However, he will have to pass the fitness test before joining the Indian team. The T20I series begins on July 29 at the Brian Lara Stadium in Trinidad. The next two matches will take place at Warner Park in St Kitts, while the remaining two in Florida.
