The Kolkata Knight Riders’ assistant coach, Abhishek Nayar, was seen having a chat with KL Rahul after the DC versus KKR match. They seemed to connect well after the match, somewhat highlighting their off-field camaraderie. Fans enjoyed catching a glimpse of their closeness, with Rahul serving as the DC’s batter and the KKR mentor, which raised consciousness about their conversation.
Rahul has always been regarded as one of the most technically sound batsmen India can boast of, but he has been losing his ground in the white-ball arena because of inconsistency. With KL, too, if his batting position kept getting changed, it would affect his playing form all the more.
But in 2025, it is quite evident that KL Rahul is causing some major stir. 371 runs in 9 matches, including 93, the majority of which came off 53 deliveries, were scored by KL against RCB at the ground Chinnaswamy.

KKR’s assistant coach, Abhishek Nayar, was spotted in a post-match discussion with KL Rahul after the DC vs KKR game, revealing a little off-field relationship. The two seemed to connect well, and it was a treat for the fans to watch this bond forming before their eyes. Sitting there as DC’s batter and KKR’s mentor, the conversation certainly gave rise to the charisma. Days before the commencement of the IPL 2025 season, KL Rahul intensified his nets practice with assistant coach Nayar alone, having joined DC’s camp a little late.
Rahul emphasized recently that it is the coach Nayar who has really helped him with his white-ball game. After all, much had been discussed about his slow strike rate in the T20s and how much his batting style needed a change.
He plays with intent and aggression now, and the credit goes to Nayar, who has played a major part in this change since being named assistant head coach of India’s senior cricket team.
