KL Rahul scores a century in India’s warm-up match

KL Rahul kept the wickets for the Indian team in the absence of Rishabh Pant in the warm-up match against County Select XI last week in Durham. Making the most of the opportunity, Rahul scored 101 off 150 deliveries before retiring out in the first innings. He was India’s best batsman in the match.

“Always good to get runs in the white kit but it’s been a while since I played the red-ball game and it just teaches you important teachings and lessons,” said Rahul in a recent video posted by the BCCI.

KL Rahul is a strong contender to open the innings for India in the first test. Shubman Gill, India’s regular opener sustained an injury and has been ruled of out the series. The five-match Test series starts from August 4 in Nottingham.
