Kohli lauded captain Rajat Patidar’s leadership, praised Jitesh Sharma’s cricketing acumen, and highlighted the strong mindset of the entire team, which made RCB’s IPL 2025 triumph possible after an 18-year wait since the franchise’s inception.
Kohli appeared deeply proud of the victory and eager to celebrate with the fans in Bengaluru. Reflecting on the moment, he said, “I’ll truly feel the magnitude of this when we arrive in Bengaluru tomorrow and celebrate with the city.” Royal Challengers Bengaluru are set to hold a victory parade in Bengaluru on Wednesday, June 4.

Virat Kohli Honors Rajat Patidar With Bat After RCB’s IPL Triumph
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batsman Virat Kohli praised captain Rajat Patidar following their win against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the IPL 2025 final. During the dressing room celebrations, the 36-year-old Kohli gifted his bat to Patidar, marking the end of RCB’s long wait for an IPL trophy.
RCB secured their first-ever IPL championship with a narrow six-run win over PBKS in the final held in Ahmedabad on Tuesday, June 3. Kohli contributed a vital 43 runs off 35 balls, helping RCB post a total of 190 in 20 overs. Bowler Krunal Pandya’s impressive 2 for 17 was instrumental in restricting PBKS to 184 for 7.
Kohli was emotional as RCB won their first IPL title, a dream years in the making. He praised captain Rajat Patidar and gifted him his MRF bat, which Patidar gratefully kissed. RCB shared the touching moment on their official X account.
