[WATCH]- Kushal Bhurtel’s Impressive Save Leads To A Run-Out For Nepal Against Netherlands In The T20I Tri-Series

In a recent T20I match between Nepal and the Netherlands, opening batter Kushal Bhurtel showcased exceptional fielding skills. The 27-year-old prevented a probable six, leading to confusion between the two Netherlands batsmen and ultimately resulting in a run-out.

This incident took place in the 20th over when Dipendra Airee bowled his off-breaks, and Roelof van der Merwe attempted a shot that initially appeared headed for a boundary.

However, Bhurtel displayed excellent fielding at long-on, preventing the six. Additionally, he swiftly threw the ball, leading to Vivian Kingma, Van der Merwe’s partner, getting run out while attempting the second run.

The Netherlands’ innings struggled to gain momentum after winning the toss. Max O’Dowd, Scott Edwards, Timm van der Gugten, and Van der Merwe were the only ones to reach double figures as they were dismissed for 120 in 19.3 overs. Pratis GC stood out among the bowlers, registering figures of 4-1-13-3.

Kushal Bhurtel makes an early exit, but Rohit Paudel and Gulsan Jha guide Nepal to victory

Bhurtel was the first to be dismissed in the pursuit of 121, contributing 12 runs from eight deliveries, with the opening partnership reaching 26. Following Aasif Sheikh’s exit for eight, captain Rohit Paudel and Gulsan Jha shared an 86-run partnership. Although both fell close to victory, Kushal Malla and Airee completed the task.

Nepal currently holds the second position in the points table and is nearly assured a spot in the final against either the Netherlands or Namibia. The top two teams will face each other on Sunday, with the latter currently leading the standings.

As all three countries are gearing up for the T20 World Cup 2024, this series holds significant importance in their preparations. Nepal and the Netherlands are placed in Group D, along with Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and South Africa. Namibia, on the other hand, is part of Group B, alongside Australia, England, Oman, and Scotland.
