Delhi Capitals (DC) fielder Lalit Yadav produced a brilliant effort on the field to run out Virat Kohli during their game against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). The Capitals have got off to a brilliant start after asking Bangalore to bat first at the Wankhede Stadium.

Shardul Thakur provided the first breakthrough for Delhi, trapping Anuj Rawat in the second over. Skipper Faf du Plessis, who is going through a lean patch followed the suit in the next over. Struggling at 13/2, Virat Kohli and Glenn Maxwell tried to revive the innings just when Lalit Yadav produced a masterpiece on the field.

The incident took place in the seventh over of the match when Shardul Thakur pulled back his line to deny Kohli easy singles. The former RCB captain, who likes to tick the scoreboard ticking, tried to sneak in a single tapping the ball to the point region.

Lalit Yadav swoops in from the backward point region and hits the bullseye with a side-arm throw. He had one stump to aim and he nailed it despite being slightly off-balance. Virat Kohli is shocked as he vents his anger hitting the pads with his bat while his way back to the dugout.

“Keep believing in yourselves” – Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant

The Capitals are coming from the back of a win after beating Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). They will hope to continue the winning momentum against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Speaking at the toss, Rishabh Pant stated they are taking one game at a time.

“Keep believing in the process and let’s take one match at a time and give our 100%. Hopefully, we can capitalise on the shorter side.”

Meanwhile, ace Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh has returned to the playing XI in place of Sarfaraz Khan. He missed a couple of matches due to an injury that ruled him out of Australia’s limited-overs tour against Pakistan.
