On Thursday, April 18, as Rahul celebrated his 32nd birthday, he cut the cake and shared the first piece with head coach Justin Langer. Then, his teammates joined in to playfully smear cake on his face. The team is now gearing up for a home match against the defending champions, Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

LSG really need to secure a victory against the Chennai Super Kings

In terms of cricketing performance, after securing three consecutive wins against Punjab Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Gujarat Titans, LSG faced defeats in their last two matches against the Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders.

Additionally, KL Rahul needs to focus on maintaining his consistency, as he has missed out on converting his starts several times. The cricketer from Karnataka has accumulated 204 runs in six matches, with an average of 34 and a strike rate of 138.77.

With fast bowler Mayank Yadav sidelined due to injury, missing the last two matches, his potential return could significantly boost the Super Giants. The Lucknow-based team currently stands fifth on the table with three wins and three defeats.

On the other hand, Chennai Super Kings will be riding high on confidence after securing victories in their last two matches against the Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians. They currently hold the third position in the table with four wins and two defeats in six matches.

In their IPL history, the two teams have met three times, each securing a win, while one match ended in a washout.
