At a rainy Old Trafford in Manchester in 2019, India put up a score of 336 runs for 5 wickets for the Pakistani team to chase. However, the match witnessed many delays caused due to rain thus eventually leading to the victory of the Indian cricket team. While expressing disappointment over the performance of Pakistan players in the 2019 World Cup match, Saqib had said:

“We didn’t execute properly. Credit where it’s due and Pakistan outplayed us today. They started brilliantly with the ball, and 3 wickets for 20 runs was not a good start. It played slow in the first half and hitting through the line was not that easy as it was in the second half, after 10 overs,”
