[WATCH] Mitchell Starc Loses Cool At The Airport Amid Fan Encounter
Mitchell Starc

Australian pacer Mitchell Starc recently found himself in an uncomfortable situation at the Delhi airport, where he was approached by a persistent fan. In a video that has since gone viral, Starc appears visibly annoyed as a vlogger attempts to strike up a conversation and record him without consent.

The incident occurred just as Starc was reportedly leaving India following the suspension of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 due to escalating border tensions between India and Pakistan. Clearly irritated, Starc bluntly told the fan to “go away,” a moment that was caught on camera and widely shared on social media.

Delhi Capitals Adjust Squad Amid Player Exits

The Delhi Capitals are currently navigating a turbulent IPL season. With the uncertainty surrounding Mitchell Starc’s return, the franchise has made some notable changes. Australian batter Jake Fraser-McGurk has already been ruled out for the rest of the season, prompting the team to sign Bangladesh fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman as his replacement.

Fraser-McGurk’s exclusion may not significantly impact the team, as he managed only 55 runs in his six appearances before being dropped. The inclusion of Mustafizur could also serve as a strategic backup in case Starc does not return for the remainder of the league.

Mustafizur Rahman’s Availability Remains Unclear

Despite being signed by the Delhi Capitals, Mustafizur Rahman’s immediate availability is uncertain. The Bangladeshi pacer has flown to Dubai to participate in a two-match T20I series against the UAE, scheduled for May 17 and 19. This timeline would prevent him from arriving in India before May 20, meaning he is set to miss Delhi’s upcoming clash against the Gujarat Titans.

Given Mustafizur’s valuable contract, the Delhi Capitals are reportedly in talks with the Bangladesh Cricket Board to secure his early release. It is customary for cricket boards to receive a portion of the player’s IPL earnings, adding another layer of complexity to the negotiations.

With key players either leaving or unavailable, Delhi Capitals are in a tight spot and may need to quickly finalize plans to maintain competitiveness in the ongoing season.
