[WATCH] Mohammed Siraj’s Magic Stuns Atkinson as India Levels Series

On the fifth day of the fifth and final Test at The Oval, London, India produced an exciting last-minute six-run win after Mohammed Siraj bowled out Gus Atkinson immediately after to go to five wickets (5/104) and a nine-wicket match haul (9/190). This was the world win that tied the series 2-2, thus, the trophy, the Anderson-Tendulkar trophy, was shared between the two teams. The Indian bowlers produced a marvelous effort in defending a tough score in a nail-biting finish.

The last day of the Test match proved to be a nail-biting one when England only required 28 runs to win, and so it was left with 4 wickets in hand. Chris Woakes came out with an incredible spirit and applied himself with a broken left arm in a sling, but eventually the India bowlers came out successful. The lower-order England played well, but the bowlers of India made them stand in line, and the end of the match was a thriller.

The effort put in by Mohammed Siraj contributed to the success of India. On the last day he bowled a total of three very important wickets through the English lower order, including that of Atkinson, who gave India the win. Siraj also received the Player of the Match award after picking up a five-for (5/104) in the second innings match and a nine-wicket match haul (9/190). His skills to deliver the important wickets when needed most turned out to be the game changers in the match.

The statistics of 5/104 and 9/190 that were compiled by Siraj were a mark of his amazing bowling performance. He was hard on the English batsmen throughout and ended up assisting India to win an exciting match.
