MS Dhoni, the experienced Chennai Super Kings (CSK) player, was recently seen boarding a flight to his hometown, Ranchi. The 43-year-old last played in the 57th match of the season, where CSK faced off against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Eden Gardens on Wednesday, May 7.
After electing to bat first, KKR’s captain Ajinkya Rahane led with a composed 48 off 33 balls, helping his side set a total of 179/6 in 20 overs. In reply, CSK debutant Urvil Patel got his team off to a strong start with a quickfire 31 off 11 balls.
Dewald Brevis carried the momentum forward with a rapid 52 off 25 balls, while Shivam Dube played a steady knock, contributing 45 off 40 balls. In the final moments, MS Dhoni remained not out on 17 from 18 balls, guiding CSK to a thrilling two-wicket victory with just two balls to spare.
On Saturday, May 10, an Instagram fan page dedicated to MS Dhoni posted a video of the CSK star onboard a flight heading to Ranchi. This comes after the BCCI’s announcement on Friday, May 9, to suspend IPL 2025 for a week due to rising tensions at the India-Pakistan border.
