Punjab Kings (PBKS) opener Prabhsimran Singh was dismissed for a two-ball duck during their 2025 IPL match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK). The right-hander dragged a delivery from Mukesh Choudhary onto his stumps in Mullanpur on Tuesday, April 8. PBKS had a flying start thanks to an action-packed opening over bowled by Khaleel Ahmed.

Priyansh Arya struck two sixes and had a lucky escape after being dropped by the bowler himself, with the over producing 17 runs. Prabhsimran faced his first delivery in the second over, with Mukesh Choudhary taking over the attack. After safely negotiating the first ball, Prabhsimran looked to be aggressive on the second.

Choudhary shortened the length slightly and gave a hint of width. Attempting to pierce the off-side field by playing on the rise, Prabhsimran advanced down the pitch, but only managed to inside-edge the ball onto his stumps. You can watch the dismissal video here:

Prabhsimran Singh has struggled to justify the franchise’s decision to retain him after the 2024 season. While he did notch up a classy half-century in PBKS’ victory against LSG in Lucknow, he has managed just 22 runs across his other three innings.

CSK’s powerplay bowling continues to be expensive, but their pacers have managed to strike at key moments. After Mukesh Choudhary removed Prabhsimran in the second over, Khaleel Ahmed followed up from the opposite end with a brilliant delivery to bowl out Shreyas Iyer.

This marked the second game in a row where the PBKS skipper was dismissed bowled, following two unbeaten outings to start the season. At the time of writing, PBKS are 46/2 after four overs, with Priyansh Arya taking charge in the powerplay. Marcus Stoinis has joined him at the crease, also searching for form with the bat.
