[WATCH]- Nita Ambani And Rohit Sharma Chat After MI’s IPL 2024 Match vs LSG

Following their defeat to the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Wankhede Stadium on Friday, May 17th, Mumbai Indians (MI) opener Rohit Sharma and co-owner Nita Ambani were seen conversing. A video surfaced on social media depicting their casual discussion, which contrasted with the animated exchanges some fans had anticipated.

Their interaction reminded fans of a lively exchange between KL Rahul and LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka after a previous match earlier in the month. The match marked the final IPL 2024 group game for both teams, with the Lucknow Super Giants emerging victorious by 18 runs in a high-scoring encounter.

Following Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya’s decision to field first, the visiting team amassed 214-6 in 20 overs, led by Nicholas Pooran’s explosive 29-ball 75. KL Rahul also notched up a composed half-century.

Despite Mumbai Indians’ earnest efforts, they fell short and experienced their ninth defeat of the season. This defeat marked MI’s second loss to the Super Giants in IPL 2024, with the earlier defeat occurring at the Ekana International Stadium.

Rohit Sharma regains his form in preparation for the T20 World Cup

For the Indian team, with the T20 World Cup 2024 on the horizon, Rohit’s dynamic innings of 68 runs off 38 balls was the most significant highlight of the evening. The right-handed batsman reached his half-century in just 29 deliveries before being dismissed by Ravi Bishnoi, disrupting MI’s pursuit of victory.

Despite struggling to regain form in recent innings, the 37-year-old concluded the season on a satisfactory note, amassing 417 runs in 14 matches at an average of 32.07 and a strike rate of 150.

However, the five-time champions finished at the bottom of the points table. Apart from Naman Dhir, who scored an unbeaten 62 off 28 deliveries, no other MI batter managed to surpass the 50-run mark.

For the Super Giants, their victory wasn’t sufficient to keep them in contention for the playoffs as the 18-run win did little to improve their net run rate. This marked the first instance since their debut in 2022 that LSG failed to reach the top four.
