Earlier, Nitish received a grand and emotional welcome in Visakhapatnam after his outstanding display in the 2024 Border-Gavaskar Trophy. His stellar debut series earned him widespread acclaim, as he scored 298 runs across five matches at an impressive average of 37.25, finishing as India’s second-highest run-scorer in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
