[WATCH]- “Massive Season Ahead” – Hardik Pandya Gears Up For IND vs ENG 2025 T20Is With Intense Training

Team India‘s star all-rounder Hardik Pandya was spotted putting in the hard yards ahead of the Men in Blue’s upcoming white-ball season. The dynamic cricketer undertook fitness drills at a stadium to gear up for the five-match home T20I series against England, starting January 22.

After India’s four-match T20I series in South Africa, Hardik represented Baroda in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024-25, showcasing his explosive form. He amassed 246 runs in seven games at an exceptional strike rate of 193.70.

The 31-year-old also featured in Baroda’s playing XI for three matches in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025, scoring 11 runs in two innings and picking up three wickets in as many appearances. Hardik now looks determined to make a strong impact in India’s white-ball series against England.

On Monday, January 13, Hardik shared a video on his official Instagram account, offering fans a sneak peek into his latest training session. He captioned the post:

“Big season up on us 💯🔥.”

“Needs Official Word” – Aakash Chopra On Hardik Pandya’s Captaincy Snub

Hardik Pandya was widely expected to succeed Rohit Sharma as India’s T20I captain after Rohit’s retirement post the 2024 T20 World Cup. However, the team management and selectors opted to appoint the dynamic Suryakumar Yadav as the new skipper.

Hardik Pandya, Rohit Sharma’s deputy during India’s 2024 T20 World Cup triumph, had also led the team in Rohit’s absence. However, Axar Patel has been named vice-captain for the England series. Aakash Chopra feels the selectors owe an explanation for Hardik’s recent exclusion from leadership roles.

Replying to a fan’s query, Chopra shared his thoughts on the microblogging platform X:

“It’s a development that needs an official word. He was leading India in Rohit’s absence. Now, he’s not even the VC. I’d like to hear from the selectors about their thought process.”
