[WATCH] “One Of The Finest In The Game” – Pakistani Actor Meets Suryakumar Yadav On His Birthday During Asia Cup 2023

Pakistani actor Momin Saqib, who gained fame during the 2019 World Cup, crossed paths with Indian cricket star Suryakumar Yadav during the ongoing Asia Cup 2023 on September 14th.

In a video posted on X (formerly known as Twitter), Saqib praised Yadav’s inventive cricket skills, and the two exchanged a friendly hug. Yadav was casually dressed in a light orange T-shirt, black pants, a coordinating cap, and slippers.

Saqib posted a message on the micro-blogging platform:

Suryakumar Yadav, the prominent batsman, has reached the age of 33, marking his birthday on Thursday. In his recent professional endeavors, he showcased his fielding skills by taking two catches.

He served as a substitute fielder during India’s match against Sri Lanka on September 12. This contributed to India’s victory by a margin of 41 runs, securing their spot in the Asia Cup 2023 final.

“You cannot waste him by keeping him out” – Harbhajan Singh thoughts on Suryakumar Yadav

Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh recently expressed his support for Suryakumar Yadav, who has earned a spot in India’s squad for the 2023 ODI World Cup, despite his less impressive statistics in ODIs. The 43-year-old referred to him as a versatile player capable of altering the course of a game within just 20 deliveries.

Harbhajan recently stated in an interview with Star Sports:

“I feel Suryakumar Yadav is a complete, complete player. I know a lot of people ask what has he done in ODIs, but what he has done in T20s? I feel in that position, there is not a better player than Suryakumar in India.”

He continued:

“What he can do at that position, neither Virat [Kohli] can do, nor Sanju or Rohit Sharma. Because what he does is a difficult job, batting at [no.] 5-6. What [MS] Dhoni has done, what Yuvi [Yuvraj Singh] has done.”

The cricketer-turned-commentator added:

“When he is in the team, it increases the pressure on the opposition. Whether he fires or not. On any day, he can play a match-winning innings. He can hit 50-60 runs in 20 balls. So, you have to play a player like this. You cannot waste him by keeping him out.”

Yadav has not participated in any match during the current Asia Cup 2023. In ODIs, the right-handed batsman has somewhat underwhelming statistics, accumulating 511 runs at an average of 24.33, with just two half-centuries to his name.

In a rather unexpected move, Suryakumar Yadav was chosen over wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson for the 50-over World Cup, despite Samson’s impressive record of 390 runs in 12 innings, boasting an average of 55.7, with three half-centuries.

Yadav will be eager for an opportunity to feature in the playing XI in the upcoming match against Bangladesh, given that India has already secured their place in the Asia Cup 2023 final.
