Australian fast bowler and SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) captain Pat Cummins has arrived at the team’s camp ahead of the upcoming IPL season. In a video shared by the franchise, Cummins recreated his iconic ‘silence’ celebration by placing a finger to his lips.
The video features a young boy shushing a group of people engaged in conversation before dramatically saying, “He is coming” in Telugu. Moments later, Cummins appears and performs his signature celebration. This gesture became famous after the 2023 World Cup final against India in Ahmedabad.
Before the match, the right-arm pacer had stated in a press conference that nothing is more satisfying than silencing a massive crowd. Although Australia entered the final as underdogs in front of nearly 130,000 fans, they delivered a dominant performance, leaving the crowd in stunned silence.

Australian captain Pat Cummins, who chose to bowl first, played a key role in the final by taking two crucial wickets while conceding just 34 runs without allowing a boundary.
His performance earned him a ₹20.50 crore contract from SunRisers Hyderabad ahead of IPL 2024, along with the captaincy. Despite leading his team to the final, they fell short against Kolkata Knight Riders.
Pat Cummins finished as SRH’s second-highest wicket-taker in IPL 2024
Pat Cummins, the only overseas captain in IPL 2025, put in a solid bowling performance last season. He claimed 18 wickets in 16 matches at an average of 31.44, making him SRH’s second-highest wicket-taker behind T Natarajan, who took 19 scalps.
However, a potential concern for the Orange Army is Cummins’ lack of recent game time. The 31-year-old has not featured in a competitive match since the fifth Test against India in Sydney. He missed the Sri Lanka tour and the Champions Trophy 2025 due to paternity leave and an ankle injury.
SRH will kick off their IPL 2025 campaign against Rajasthan Royals on March 23 in Hyderabad.
