[WATCH]- England Star Shares Lighthearted Moment With Virat Kohli At RCB Unbox Event Ahead Of IPL 2025

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) veteran Virat Kohli shared a lighthearted exchange with his new teammate Phil Salt during the Unbox event on Monday (March 17) ahead of IPL 2025. Salt was among RCB’s marquee signings at the mega auction held in December last year.

Previously a key member of Kolkata Knight Riders’ title-winning squad in IPL 2024, Salt played a crucial role at the top of the order. After KKR released him, RCB secured his services with a hefty ₹11.50 crore bid at the auction. He is expected to open the innings alongside Virat Kohli in the upcoming season.

RCB shared a video on their X handle, offering fans a glimpse of the budding camaraderie between the two players ahead of IPL 2025. In the clip, Kohli and Salt were seen engaging in playful banter during the Unbox event at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Phil Salt also recounted a humorous moment where he playfully hit Virat Kohli with a sponge ball at the event, saying:

“I just saw Virat in my eye line, and honestly, it’s got him so nicely on the side of the head. He literally got whiplash looking around for me. He was on me in no time at all.”

“I don’t know who he was pointing at but he thought it was someone else, then his eyes turned to me and he looked serious and I wasn’t sticking around, trying to get him straight out of there. But it was obvious no time at all. If there’s some footage of that it will be very very funny.”

RCB is set to take on KKR in the opening match of IPL 2025 on March 22 in Kolkata

RCB’s campaign under their new captain, Rajat Patidar, will kick off on March 22 with an exciting clash against defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Eden Gardens. After bowing out in the Eliminator last season, Royal Challengers will be eager to step up their game in IPL 2025 and secure their maiden title.
