Indian fast bowler Prasidh Krishna delivered an impressive four-wicket haul in the third ODI against South Africa at the Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Stadium in Visakhapatnam on Saturday, December 6. For his third scalp, the right-armer shattered Quinton de Kock’s (106) stumps, handing India a crucial breakthrough.

The wicket came in the 33rd over when Krishna bowled a rapid, full-length delivery at 141 kph. De Kock, who had reached his seventh century against India just a few overs earlier, attempted a cross-batted flick but the ball sneaked through the gap between bat and pad to rattle the stumps. His departure pushed South Africa to 199-5.

Four-wicket haul from Prasidh Krishna keeps Proteas to 270

KL Rahul won the toss for the first time in 21 ODIs and opted to field, putting Temba Bavuma’s South Africa in to bat. While Quinton de Kock struck a century and Bavuma (48), Matthew Breetzke (24) and Dewald Brevis (29) made decent starts, the visitors kept losing wickets in batches and eventually finished with a total of 270.

Kuldeep Yadav stood out with brilliant figures of 4 for 41 from 10 overs, including a maiden, while Prasidh Krishna also picked up four wickets, giving away 66 runs in 9.5 overs. With the possibility of dew later in the evening, the hosts are expected to have a comfortable chase of the 271-run target to seal the series. All eyes will once again be on Virat Kohli, who has notched centuries in each of the first two matches.
