Watch – Prithvi Shaw Check His Pants And Smiles After Getting Hit On The Box

The young Delhi Capitals opener – Prithvi Shaw is a character both on and off the field. After a lean patch with the bat where he was dropped from the national side, the batter from Mumbai has found his rhythm back. Shaw was in superlative form against Punjab Kings on Sunday night and gave them a blistering start in the run chase. He scored a belligerent 39 off just 22 deliveries to set the platform before Shikhar Dhawan took the side home.

Apart from Shaw’s eye-catching knock, another hilarious incident caught everyone’s attention. During his 22-ball stay in the middle, there was also an uncomfortable moment that he experienced. Off the last ball of the 3rd over, Prithvi Shaw was hit right on his crotch and looked in considerable pain. The fast bowler from Australia Riley Meredith bowled at 140kph and Shaw failed to connect the ball.

Delhi Capitals’ physio Patrick Farhat came out running to check if Prithvi Shaw was fine. And then, Shaw looked into his pants, and even gave a smile as well which got everyone laughing. Punjab Kings bowler Mohammed Shami, who came to check on the batter also sported a smile seeing Prithvi’s hilarious antics.

Speaking about the game, batting first, Punjab banked on whirlwind knock from their stand-in skipper Mayank Agarwal to post 166 runs. Chris Gayle and Dawid Malan got starts but failed to capitalise on them. Ultimately, it was Agarwal who propelled Punjab Kings to a challenging total, which in the end was not enough to secure them a win.

Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan once again got DC off to a flying start. They added 63 runs for the first wicket and there was no coming back from thereon. Dhawan remained unbeaten on 69 runs and with some contributions from Steve Smith and skipper Rishabh Pant – Delhi convincingly chased down the total.
