Lucknow Super Giants opener Quinton De Kock played a standout knock on Wednesday against the Kolkata Knight Riders at the DY Patil Sports Academy. His wife and child, who were present in the stands were delighted at the left-hander’s second Indian Premier League (IPL) hundred.

Quinton De Kock opened the innings along with skipper KL Rahul. He took on the attack to the opposition bowlers early in the innings. The left-hander was also given a life in the third over when debutant Abhijeet Tomar dropped his catch. The opener was on twelve runs when he got lucky and made the most of this opportunity. He slammed Varun Chakravarthy for 18 runs in the sixteenth over.

De Kock completed his century with a boundary against Andre Russell in the eighteenth over. Russell bowled a short of a length delivery, which De Kock cut between point and short third man for a four. This brought up his second hundred in the Indian Premier League.

His knock included ten boundaries and as many sixes. Notably, Quinton De Kock’s 140* is now the highest individual score in the Indian Premier League 2022 season.

Lucknow Super Giants set a target of 211 runs

Meanwhile, when Quinton De Kock was going all guns blazing, KL Rahul played the perfect second fiddle. He scored an unbeaten 68 off 51 balls, including three boundaries and a four. The Lucknow Super Giants have set a target of 211 runs for the Kolkata Knight Riders.
