Rashid Khan delivered a crucial double breakthrough to pull Afghanistan back into their Group D encounter against South Africa in the 2026 T20 World Cup at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Wednesday, February 11.
The star leg-spinner first removed Quinton de Kock, ending a 114-run second-wicket partnership, and then dismissed the well-set Ryan Rickelton shortly after. Both wickets fell in the 13th over of South Africa’s innings.
Rashid bowled a short ball that de Kock attempted to power over deep mid-wicket, but he failed to get the distance and found Ibrahim Zadran stationed a few yards inside the boundary. The Afghan captain then trapped Rickelton lbw, taking his second wicket of the over.

South Africa, meanwhile, began their campaign with a dominant 57-run win over Canada and will aim to maintain their winning momentum.
